This is tradition of our family from the Kharkiv region to make dolls.

Indeed, I have a collection of dolls “The Puppet Chronicle of War” which powerfully affects the senses. Thank you for the invitation to participate in the section of exhibition dedicated to the terrible reality of this war.

I had personal exhibitions in Cherkasy, Chyhyrin, Kyiv. There were also articles in the press of Ukraine and Germany. I don’t really actively display these dolls. Because they are still explosive for reflection. Dolls are my non-verbal conversation with humanity. Often the audience is silent, then they cry, then they say something.

On September 14, 2023, my dolls “Residents of Bakhchisaray” (9 compositions) will take part in the exhibition “Discovery” in the project “Crimean Tatar Studios” in Kyiv. This is a continuation of the Puppet Chronicle of the War.

Also I made a miniature textile traditional doll of the craftswoman Keika from Japan. Daruma from textiles (photo below)

She was in Kharkiv under shelling for quite a long period. Motanka’s community supported her emotionally. For the moment Olena temporarily moved to other region of Ukraine.

Традиція родини з Харківщини – робити ляльок.
Дійсно у мене є колекція ляльок “Ляльковий літопис війни” яка потужно вражає почуття. Дякую за запрошення взяти участь а виставці : ” розділ, присвяченій жахливій реальності цієї війни”, влучна назва теми.
В мене були персональні виставки у Черкасах, Чигиріні, Києві. Також були статі у пресі України та Німеччини. Я не дуже активно виставляю ці ляльки. Бо вони ще вибухові для рефлексії. Ляльки моя невербальна розмова з людством. Часто глядач мовчать, потім плачут, потім говорят щось. Є відкрита група фб, де розміщуюю інформацію по темі назви групи “Ляльковий літопис війни”.
