In planning this exhibition I first connected with people in Kyiv, Ukraine. But the connection did not stop there. In no time at all more than 100 generous masters, artists and ordinary people living not only in Ukraine, but also in Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Poland and France sent us their precious Motankas to support the children in shelters, and bring them moments of joy to help heal their trauma.
The speed of this generous response was beyond words, as the power of love, care and connectedness traveled with the speed of light. Also some children in a shelter near Kiev sent us a heartfelt message by making beautiful Motankas for Peace. These Motanka dolls will be displayed at the exhibition too.
We really hope that you will come and see “A Piece of Ukraine for Peace in Ukraine” – a message from Marina Antonyuk from Ukrainian Incentives, which I found in a parcel sent by her.
