I recently had a son. But it so happened that the happiness of motherhood was overshadowed by the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine. Caring for a child does not give me the opportunity to fully help my country, so I began to make motanka dolls in order to help fundraising for good purposes in charity fairs and in this way, to help.

There is a Ukrainian famous old song about colours in Ukrainian traditional embroidery: “Red is the love, Black is the grief”
One of the legends about the Sokal traditional embroidery shirt says about dark times of Ukrainian people in 1519. Mongol-Tatars burned the city of Sokal, husbands and sons died. Women in great grief began to embroider shirts with black threads.

Local artists and masters are fruitfully working to have Sokal embroidery included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status.

Нещодавно у мене народився синочок. Але так сталось, що щастя від материнства затьмарилось початком повномасштабної війни в Україні. Догляд за дитиною не дає можливості на повну допомагати армії , тому почала виготовляти ляльки- мотанки, вироби своїми руками і хоч таким чином долучатись до благодійних ярмарків.

Одна із легенд про Сокальську сорочку свідчить про нещастя, яке спіткало людей в 1519 р. Монголо-татари спалили місто Сокаль, загинули чоловіки, сини. Жінки в тяжкому смутку почали вишивати сорочки чорними нитками.
