Since March 2022, heart1—a small group of volunteers—has been providing direct support to Ukrainian mothers and children affected by war.
The Aitsugi Projects are among the key initiatives under heart1’s activities.
Our focus is simple and personal:
to reach children directly and bring them moments of hope and joy.

Since 2023, we’ve been delivering drops of joy by organizing art workshops and events.
Healing together through art. From heart to heart!
In 2023, we launched the 100 Motanka for Peace exhibition. What started with a few contacts in Kyiv quickly sparked a global wave of generosity. More than 100 compassionate Ukrainian Motanka masters—from Ukraine, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, France, and two Polish masters from Poland—sent their handmade dolls to support war-affected children.
Even children from a shelter near Kyiv created their own Motankas for Peace, which were featured in 10 exhibitions across two years.
This was more than a project—it was a tapestry of care and connection woven across borders.

We stood united for peace and freedom!
March 2025 marked the beginning of 100 Sakura for Peace, a new Aitsugi Project where children plant sakura for peace and to honor their heroes.
We invite you to sponsor sakura saplings for these children, helping them honor those who gave
their lives for peace—and for their future.
In every blossom, a hero lives on—nurtured by the love of children and their supporters. Together, we can make a difference.
